On tour: It began...

In a taxi.

Of course it did!

On tour: FAO what???

Mose went to a magical place...

Words fail him.

On tour: New Haven...

Mose was getting worn down by city life, and so he headed on out to Connecticut, where his momma was reading poems at a little bar.

It was very fun, despite the fact that Mose thought his momma's hair looked a little frizzy. Mose never has such problems.

And the next day, Mose went to see some water with his new friends, the Spaldings.... He dipped his toes in the sand.

If felt funny.

On tour: Back at the Pad...

Mose knows that one of the rules of the road is that you have to breathe and rest.

So back at Susan's place, Mose and Momma took a break, and Mose snacked on Momma's cheek.

Momma's cheek?

Oh, Mose... what are you thinking?

On tour: Chez le Chef...

Mose's Aunt Em (and yes, he also has an Uncle Henry) came up to visit, and take Mose to Coney Island. In the end Mose decided it was too hot for the freakshow, but he DID visit Chez le Chef.

Which turned out to be another kind of freakshow! Good lord!

The worst food in the state of New York. Possibly the world. And the oddest decor.

But the best aunt in the universe!

Yay!

On tour: Bowery Poetry Club...

Mose went down to the Bowery Poetry Club, because he is a very literary fellow.

He listened to Jen Benka, CA Conrad, and Shanna Compton, as they read him some wonderful poems. Mose was delighted. He didn't make a peep.

Except when Shanna tickled him. Then.... oh, did he peep!

After that he crawled accross the bar, to visit the beautiful barkeep, and check out the BPC well liquors.

Mose was not impressed, but he tries not to judge. Mose understands.

Not everyone has Mose's discerning palate.

On tour: The Subway....

There is nothing quite like the New York Subway. Except the New York subway.

Mose was speechless.

For once.

On Tour: The Streetfair!!!!

Mose was just strolling along 3rd Avenue, en route to a poetry reading, when what did he find?

A streetfair?

Mose wasn't sure what to make of the booth filled with chiffon curtains. Mose was skeptical.

Until the pretty lady came over to talk to Mose.

Now MOse LOVES streetfairs.

Mose is all about the ladies.

On tour: The Diner...

No trip to NYC is complete without a visit to a diner. And so Mose dined!

On avocado and bread. But the food took FOREVER and so Mose had an appetizer.

His hand, of course.

You should try it. Mose is delicious!

On tour: Park Slopin' It...

Mose thinks Manhattan is nice, but after a day in Park Slope, Mose had to admit that Brooklyn is better. The sun, the shade...

Mose spent a very special day in Paul's backyard, swinging in the hammock (and eating a leaf).

Mose is a Brooklyn kind of boy.

On tour: KGB agent...

While on his book tour, Mose visited the notorious KGB Bar, of course!

He made friends with the barkeep, as Mose is always trying to score a free drink.

Then he stole him momma's beer.

Mose, what are we going to do with you???

Sigh.

(For the record, Mose did not actually get any beer, but he is teething and the cold glass feels good on his gums)

On tour: Mose is cool...

What do you get when you cross LLCoolJ and a leprecaun?

Mose!

Mose hit the streets of New York City in green terry cloth. Iowa (John Deere) REPRESENT!

By accident, he stumbled upon the offices of the Colbert Report. But they did NOT offer him a job.

Mose was indignant!

Mose on the loose!!!

Mose can now CRAWL! And so far we have sustained scratches, bumps and bruises. Mose is a curious cat.

And what does one do with a cat? Why, one puts a cat in a cage!

So yesterday we went to buy Mose his very own cage. After looking at a slew of playpens, we opted for the "tell it like it is" brand of containment. The Superyard XT, which is also sold as a dogrun.

Mose is an animal! No pack-and-play Graco for him. No soft padding. No cute pictures.

Just a big plastic fence, no frills, no fuss. Mose is TRAPPED!

We also bought soft plastic things to put on the coffee table edges, plugs for the electrical sockets, and latches for the cabinets.

Man, is it fun over here!

At Sharone's place...

When Mose visited Chicago, he stayed with SHARONE, and some pictures were taken to prove it! Mose loved Sharone, and Sharone loved Mose, though Sharone's cat Lucy did NOT!

Too bad for Lucy!
